It can be difficult at times to separate the personal and professional personas but a few safeguards ensure authenticity and the real person shining out on the internet. Reputation management is a must for everyone.

It is, as you observed, Brittnei a serious issue. I’d appreciate your help in getting the message out. We often know about things and think it is not relevant to us until it does become important, especially if one has lost a job or is applying for one that would give them job satisfaction and then there are no interview calls. At the very least, we can keep track of our reputations with a self-Google that I had written about in a previous post to keep track of our reputation and manage it. Especially if we share our names with other people. I did mine the first time a few years back and found 7 others with my exact name. Fortunately the most prominent namesake is a well-respected educationist so that was a relief. I can always explain why I am not the person with the best-seller book on diplomacy without wincing. 🙂
