I did travel a lot as a younger person, Julia, and worked in many countries too – so you’re spot on. 🙂 We all have a tendency to be hard on ourselves for our perceived failures. It’s a sign of a person who is capable of great potential!

I know this is a complete side note, but it sounds like you have lived in so many interesting places Vatsala! I love your empowered and empowering attitude to failure. Although my self-talk has got so much nicer and self-accepting, I still have a tendency to shame myself for my perceived failures sometimes.

I have done this very thing! When I fail at something, I go back to the drawing board and learn it–much more so than had I not stumbled to begin with. It’s one of the great things about not succeeding the first time!
