Thanks Sharon. There is a lot of competition in Delhi for getting RO servicing done and cold calls are rampant. I’ve had some calls where I have actually spoken to the person and although I have not changed our service provider, have made note of alternative service providers. Then there are the ones who will call on the weekend and at siesta time, which is something I indulge in on weekends if I am not going out. They don’t get the time of day from me!

Thanks Pat. Cold calling is not everyone’s cup of tea. It is difficult since we do not know the other person and stand the chance of outright rejection unless handled properly.

I agree with you Helena. Social media has the benefit that both parties can do their reference check in advance so that there is a mutually beneficial dialogue when the actual call or communication takes place and the receiver has the option to say no upfront rather than be disturbed.
